JOHNATAN TABARES

Johnatan Tabares is a Colombian director and producer born in Cali, but trained in acting direction at Estudio Babel in Bogotá, under the guidance of Juan Pablo Félix. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he directs and produces for Old Lens Productions and Berraco Films.
With a distinguished career in the music industry, he has directed more than 30 music videos for major production companies such as Sony Music, Universal Music, Rancho Humilde, La R Records, JP Music, and Wounded Enterprises. Among the artists he has worked with are Máximo Grado, Jesús Ojeda y sus Parientes, Cheyo Carrillo, Adal Loreto, Tercer Elemento, Los Parras, Los Asociados, and Gavy Santana, among others.

2018
"Therapy"
Director and associate producer. It won the Audience Award at the HolyShorts Festival at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. It has also been screened at festivals such as the New York Latino Film Festival (HBO), the Baja California Film Festival, and the Panama Horror Film Festival. It won the "Best Short Film" and "Audience Award" at the 4th Panamanian International Film Festival in Los Angeles and won "Best Foreign Film" at the ELCO Film Festival in Venezuela.
2022
"Stop"
A short film based on true events about domestic violence in adolescents. It premiered in December 2023 at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood and has been selected for festivals such as the Dominican Film Festival in New York and the Indie Short Fest in Los Angeles, California.
In theater, he has directed more than 12 plays, including "Grease the Musical" and "Jesus Christ Lives the Passion" in Los Angeles. He also directed six plays at the prestigious "Short and Sweet" short film festival in Los Angeles, winning the awards for "Best Director" (2017) and "Best Screenplay" (2019).
